Warner Bros. does it again with a mid-July release

Warner Bros recently challenged every network to stay away from their lucky release slot of mid July, claiming it as theirs. They have found lots of success with this date for the last couple of years, this year it was with Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Inception', last year it was Batman's The Dark Knight.
So good is mid July to Warner Bros for releasing blockbusters that they have another Harry Potter sequel for the same slot next year, while a DiCaprio is scheduled for two years from now.
Strong reviews helped "Inception," which stars DiCaprio as leader of a team that normally breaks into people's dreams to steal their secrets but now has been hired to do the opposite – plant an idea in a wealthy heir's subconscious.
Inception earned the No. 1 position and opened at $60.4 million.
