Jackie Chan and The Karate Kid
Practically, I grew up watching those Karate Kid movies. Yes, even that one that starred Hilary Swank!
So I'm extra delighted when I heard that the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid that stars Jackie Chan already premiered in L.A. Monday night. You see I grew up watching Jackie Chan movies too. He's my fathers' favorite actor/martial arts expert of all time and that all rubbed on me.
So Ralph Macchio (the star of the original Karate Kid in 1984) was quoted admitting that he is old and that he's got mixed feelings on the new movie. I can't believe Ralph Macchio is already 48 years old! Time really flies and suddenly I'm 37.
To me it doesn't matter how this new movie goes (how it compares to the original), as long as Jackie Chan is in it then I'm 200 % sold!
By the way, The Karate Kid is one movie wherein Jackie Chan did the least fighting scenes.
